Numbers!
So, we’ve discussed that if you’re talking about more than one of a subject, you should use the number instead of ‘This’ or ‘That’ at the beginning of the sentence. But we haven’t yet actually covered numbers. Let’s take care of that now:
- One – Ansi
- Two – Isi
- Three – Tensi
- Four – Fasi
- Five – Nisi
- Six – Posi
- Seven – Sesi
- Eight – Resi
- Nine – Nusi
- Ten – Ansa
You should note that all the numbers end in ‘si’ except for Ten. There’s a reason for this. Why? Because to create 20, 30, 40, etc, you just take the number, and change ‘si’ to ‘sa’.
So 20 is Isa, 30 is Tensa, etc.
But wait, there’s more. To make larger numbers, you just add the first half of the number to the end of the tens digit. This time, dropping off the ‘si’ so the word doesn’t get too long.
So 12 is Ansai, 34 is Tensafa, 78 is Sesare, etc.
Confusing yet? Let’s break it down.
62: Po (6) sa (x10) i (2)
59: Ni (5) sa (x10) nu (9)
